For heavy duty ripping applications a band resaw reduces material wastage and improves operator safety. With a thin saw kerf the amount of material removed during cutting is greatly reduced compared to using a circular saw. A band resaw is also equipped with a dedicated power feed unit to drive the timber past the blade improving operator safety and reducing fatigue.
Few workshops would be complete without a bandsaw of some description. With probably the widest choice of any wood sawing machine type on the market choosing the right band saw can be daunting. Our range has been carefully selected to offer customers a refined choice from quality manufacturers.
There is little difference between these descriptions. Typically a rip saw features a large diameter rise and fall blade for heavy duty ripping but this has now been superceeded by modern band resaws. A tilting arbour sawbench or table saw offers more versatility and can be equipped with a sliding table for crosscutting.
Predominantly designed for use in sawmill environments multi-rip saws feature a motorised feed track, fixed or moving saw arbour with a gang of blades that can be set to perform multiple cuts in one pass. Automatic programmable moving blade options can be quickly set by the operator for waney edge timber processing.
